The local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), in partnership with the City of Casa Grande and other sponsors, will host a tree planting ceremony to celebrate Arbor Day at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10 at College Park located at 250 E. Viola Road. Students from local schools will help plant a tree and the community is invited to participate in the event.
For over a hundred years, the Daughters of the American Revolution have made the preservation and conservation of America’s natural resources an integral part of their duty to cherish the country’s natural heritage and resources. Since 2009, the Casa Grande Valley Chapter of the DAR has brought school children into Casa Grande’s parks to plant a tree and learn about the value of trees.
According to the Arbor Day Foundation, trees produce oxygen, can add value to your home, help cool your home and neighborhood, and provide food for wildlife.
