The City of Casa Grande Attorney’s Office, in partnership with Against Abuse, Inc. and the Casa Grande Police Department, invites the community to celebrate National Crime Victims’ Rights Week from April 2 through April 8. This week-long recognition is an opportunity for Casa Grande to honor and remember those who have been a victim of a crime, as well as learn about crime victims’ rights.
To commemorate this year’s theme of “Strength. Resilience. Justice.” a seminar training covering the topics of “Violence in the Workplace” and “Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking” will be hosted at the Paramount Theatre, located at 420 N Florence St, #4. The training event will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and will focus on prevention, intervention and response to violence in the workplace and human trafficking. This training is free and open to the public. A continental breakfast will be served. This event is proudly sponsored by Wal-Mart #1218.
The City of Casa Grande Attorney’s Office, Against Abuse, Inc. and the Casa Grande Police Department will also be presenting a personal safety skills training for children and youth at Casa Grande Head Start and the Boys & Girls Club of Casa Grande Valley on April 6, 2017. This outreach initiative will feature the book “A Terrible Thing Happened” by Margaret M. Holmes, which is an illustrated story for children who have witnessed any kind of violent or traumatic episode, including physical abuse, school violence, or accidents.
