Sun Life Family Health Center (Sun Life) is Pinal County, Arizona’s largest primary health care provider and the only primary care provider that accepts most major insurance and offers its services on a sliding-fee based formula. Sun Life is a federally qualified section 330, 501(c) 3 Community Health Center, and is accredited by the Joint Commission, considered to be the “gold standard” for quality in health care. To achieve and maintain this accreditation, Sun Life makes significant efforts to review and improve key factors that can affect the quality and safety of patient care. Desert Reflections Imaging Center (DRIC)
The Casa Grande Regional Medical Center is a leader in the use of the modern medical technology. CGRMC is home to the state-of-the-art Desert Reflections Imaging Center (DRIC). DRIC provides the most up-to-date equipment with PET CT, breast stereotactic system, bone densitometry, high-definition MRI, multi-slice CT scans, digital radiology, digital mammography including high-definition breast MRI and ultrasound. By utilizing their state-of-the-art voice recognition system, test results can be made available within one hour.
Stage 6 HIMSS Designation
In 2010, the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center became the first hospital in Arizona to achieve the Stage 6 designation of the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model. The designation was the result of organization wide standardization of practices and implementation of electronic medical records. This distinction honors CGRMC’s accomplishments in implementing technology solutions that improve patient safety and quality of care. Stage 6 hospitals also demonstrate a significant advancement in their IT capabilities. These facilities successfully address many of the current industry transformations. CGRMC is dedicated to providing the best care for patients and the community. It currently is pursuing stage 7 recognition, the highest stage a hospital can achieve.
Robotic Pharmaceutical System
Sun Life Family Health Center introduced a Parata Max robotics system to their Casa Grande pharmacy in order to improve patient care and streamline patient flow. A fully automated device, the system is programmed at the factory for a list of 200 most frequently used medications that the Sun Life staff provided to the manufacturer. The system dispenses oral solids (pills, tablets and capsules) that make up more than 60 percent of the pharmacy’s prescriptions. The new system greatly improves accuracy and allows staff to spend more time with patients. When prescriptions are entered into the computer, it counts out the designated number of pills, tablets or capsules, places them in the appropriately sized container, caps it and labels it. It can print the labels in English or Spanish and is capable of using several other languages.
Cancer Treatment Services Arizona (CTSA) has recently expanded its cancer treatment capabilities through the addition of ZEVALIN®, a radiotherapeutic antibody delivered as part of the ZEVALIN® therapeutic regimen for the treatment of patients with low-grade or follicular non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL). CTSA successfully began treatment of their first patient using the ZEVALIN® therapeutic regimen in June 2010. CTSA is one of the only free-standing authorized treatment centers for ZEVALIN® drug administration in Arizona. Its’ physicians received training on the use of ZEVALIN® from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a leading institution for ZEVALIN® therapy since its inception. Unlike other cancer treatments that may take several months to perform, the ZEVALIN® treatment can be completed in a matter of days and all within CTSA’s facility.
