City Manager's Message

As other Cities around us are struggling with their future growth goals, we in Casa Grande are
proud that we had the foresight to plan for difficult financial outlooks and move forward with
our goals to improve the quality of living in our fair City. The City of Casa Grande is in the process
of building and completing several projects as we prepare for the start of our new fiscal year. With a new budget in place and a focus on the future, the City is scheduled to complete 4 major projects during the next 18 months.

We are proud that our new Casa Grande Animal Care & Adoption Center Facility opened for
business on July 1st. We celebrated the building completion with a ribbon cutting ceremony
last month as the project was completed on time in a little over 4 months. The cats and dogs
have just moved into their new home, where we hope you will visit to find your new best
friend. Make a call and leave a message for Linda.

The Len Colla Center addition is on schedule and we are looking at a construction completion
date in March 2010, followed by a new Fire Station, #504 that will open in January 2010 with a project cost of $4.5 million.

With a budget of nearly $23 million the new Public Safety Facility is ready to start construction in October this year and we hope to have this beautiful center open in December 2010.

In partnership with Hunter Contracting and Carollo Engineers, work is well underway on the Casa Grande Water Reclamation Facility Phase 3 expansion project.  In 2007, the City’s wastewater plant treated 1.5 billion gallons of wastewater; the expanded facility will have the capacity to treat 4.38 billion gallons of wastewater per year. The need for expansion of the reclamation facility was identified in the City’s 2006 update to its wastewater master plan, prepared for the City by Carollo Engineers. This expansion will position Casa Grande to handle future growth for many years to come. By doing the work now we have provided jobs for our community and received great value for our investment.

As you can see we have a great deal of building construction underway around the City. These improvements will make Casa Grande a better place to live.
