Day of Playtopia Day of Playtopia & Night of Remembrance The City of Casa Grande will host its 5th Annual Day of Playtopia at Carr-McNatt Park on Friday, September 21, from 6:00 until 8:00pm. Join us as we celebrate Casa Grande's 4th consecutive year as Playful City USA designation. Free music and activities will be ongoing throughout the evening and include: informational booths, games from your youth such as 4 square, tether ball, wiffle ball, relay races, hopscotch, and something new... disc golf, archery, bocce ball, group zumba, and more! So "GET UP" off the couch and "GET OUT" of the house and join us as we take part with many others across the world by encouraging our children to be active and healthy starting with Casa Grande PLAYTOPIA! Also that night will be the Casa Grande Youth Commission's "A Night of Remembrance" in honor of the 11th Anniversary of September 11, 2001. The event was canceled on Tuesday, September 11 due to the weather but will now be held at Carr McNatt Park on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. The candlelight ceremony will include singing and a special guest speaker. This event is free and open to the community. Donations of small travel size health care items will be collected at the event to send to our troops who are serving abroad. Come out and honor those who gave their lives for our freedom
Community Groups and Individuals Once again the Casa Grande Play Task Force is hosting its annual GET UP, GET OUT, Day of “Playtopia”. We are looking for those individuals or groups that are interested in providing a Play Activity for youth and adults to enjoy. Our event will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carr McNatt Park. You can bring a game or activity of your own choice or you can host one of the games the city has. Some of the big hits from last PLAY Day include: bubbles, parachutes, and the obstacle course, wiffle ball, red light green light, line dancing, bucket brigade and much more.
