APS WORK ON THORNTON ROAD

Beginning Monday, November 20th and lasting through Friday, December 15th, Arizona Public Service (APS) will be upgrading their overhead 69KV line from their substation at Thornton Road and Main Avenue, along Thornton Road, to a secondary substation at Thornton Road and Ash Avenue.

Motorists are to expect major delays on West Gila Bend Highway (State Route 84) and Thornton Road on the following days:

Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, December 9th and Sunday December 10th, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Law enforcement will be present on the above dates as traffic will be stopped in approximately 15-minute intervals for contractors to complete the work.

Motorists are asked to drive cautiously throughout the work area and follow all posted traffic signs.
