FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CITY WELCOMES NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR, BRENDA HASLER.
Casa Grande, AZ (October 16, 2023)
Following an extensive search, the City of Casa Grande has found its new Finance Director nearby. City Manager Larry Rains has announced Brenda Hasler, currently the Controller for the City of Maricopa, has been hired to join the City’s management team. She will begin her new position on October 23rd.
Hasler has been with the City of Maricopa for the past eight years and has served in several capacities, including Accounting Manager, Senior Finance Analyst and Finance Director. Her past experiences include working in the private and non-profit sector, time with the City of Chandler, and fifteen years with the Arizona Office of the Auditor General. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Southern Oregon State College and has been a CPA for more than 20 years. Hasler has served on the Pinal County Audit Committee for the past six years and was the Committee Chair for 4 years.
In making the announcement of her appointment, City Manager Rains expressed his confidence in the new finance director. “I’m delighted to have someone like Brenda joining our management team. Her background and municipal finance expertise will help us deal effectively with the challenges we now face and those that are ahead. I’ve worked with Brenda on the county audit committee, and I believe she will be a great fit here in Casa Grande.”
“It is both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to start a new challenge with the City of Casa Grande,” Hasler said. “I am excited and looking forward to being part of a solid management team and continuing to strengthen the financial foundation of the City.”
Brenda Hasler replaces the former city finance director, Angele Ozoemelam, who resigned in May to take a similar position with the City of Tucson.
