FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | Electric Light Parade Returns for the 28th Year

Casa Grande, AZ (November 27, 2023) – The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department is excited to kick off the holiday season with the 28th Annual Electric Light Parade, generously sponsored by APS. The Electric Light Parade is the most popular event of the year and is scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd at 5:45 p.m. 

The parade will start at 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Florence Blvd. and Colorado Street and will proceed west to Florence St., turn south, and conclude at 2nd Street. in downtown. The annual tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Peart Park. The public is encouraged to vote online at for their favorite float, the winner will receive the People’s Choice Award and be recognized at an upcoming City Council meeting. 

Activities for the day are free and the schedule is as follows: 

Pictures with Santa | 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
Dorothy Powell Senior Center, 405 E 6th St. 
Event includes inflatables, food trucks, free digital pictures with Santa, and crafts. 

Electric Light Parade | 5:45 p.m. 
On Florence Blvd. from Colorado Street to 2nd St. 
Event includes 85 floats. 

Tree Lighting Ceremony | 6:00 p.m. 
Peart Park, 350 E 6th St. 

The following street closures will be in place on Saturday, December 2nd, to accommodate parade staging: 

  • Florence St. between Florence Blvd. and 2nd St. 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • Pottebaum Ave. between 9th & Florence Blvd. 2:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • Florence Blvd between Colorado and Peart 2:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • Colorado St. between 9th & Florence Blvd. 2:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • 2nd St., Florence St. to Jimmie Kerr Blvd. 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • 2nd St., Sacaton St. to Florence St. 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • Florence Blvd, Peart Rd. to Florence St. (Parade Route) 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 

Parade attendees are asked to pack their trash after the parade and clean up the area around them. The faster the streets are cleared of debris, the faster they will open.
