City Introduces Mass Communications Tool, CGAlerts!

At the March 8th State of the City event, the City of Casa Grande launched a new mass communications tool. Casa Grande Alerts (CGAlerts) is an alert center where citizens can sign-up to receive time-sensitive notifications. Citizens customize their preferences through the personalized login feature. They will receive messages however they specify - by home, mobile or business phones, email addresses, or text messages. Alerts may include:

  • Community news- such as meetings and events,
  • Traffic notifications- such as road closures, detours on our city streets and the I-10 freeway,
  • Sanitation route disruptions,
  • Emergency alerts- like missing persons or downed powerlines

Citizens are asked to provide their address and preferred method(s) of contact. Adding the full street address will allow information specific to geographical areas to be sent. These may include evacuation or shelter-in-place notifications. This system will only ever be used by the City of Casa Grande to communicate information from the city and its various departments. Personal information is confidential and will not be shared.

“This system enables us to provide citizens with critical information quickly in a variety of situations,” said Mayor Craig McFarland. “We encourage everyone to sign up at www.CasaGrandeAZ.gov, or text CGAlerts to 38276, set their personal preferences, and stay informed.” These alerts are free; however, standard text messaging rates may apply.
