City Manager Announces Resignation of Human Resources Director

Casa Grande City Manager, Larry Rains announced today that Human Resources Director, Dawn Jett, has submitted her resignation from the City of Casa Grande. Jett originally joined the City of Casa Grande in December 2012 after the retirement of previous director, Scott Barber.

“I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to serve the city and its employees, and am proud of the many steps forward in which I have been able to participate,” said Jett. “I wish the city well and I will look back on my time here as a positive experience. For me, though, it is time to move on to another opportunity which will be a new adventure and will allow me to be closer to my family.”

During her five year tenure in Casa Grande, Jett’s major accomplishments included the implementation of a citywide Paid Time Off (PTO) program, the adoption of an online open enrollment system, the creation of personnel policy amendments to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance, and the transition from a fully insured medical plan to a self-funded plan allowing the city to save money in health insurance premiums. Jett also represented the city in several professional organizations including the Central Arizona Human Resource Management Association and the Arizona Human Resource Director’s Association.

“Dawn’s expertise in human resources policy, benefits administration, and employee relations has been an important asset to our organization and team for the past several years,” said City Manager, Larry Rains. “We wish Dawn only the best in her future endeavors, and will move forward to ensure that the personnel needs and best interest of our team and community remain a priority.”

Upon Jett’s departure, the City Manager will lead the process to fill the vacant position. The selection process will consist of a nationwide search for Jett’s successor, considering both internal and external candidates who choose to apply.
