NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE
(PRIMARY PROPERTY TAXES)
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 9-499.15, the City of Casa Grande hereby gives notice it may raise its primary property taxes over last year’s rate of 0.9905 up to a rate of 1.1244 and its primary property tax levy from $3,572,996 to $4,389,245.
A schedule of the proposed increased tax rate and the written report or data that supports the proposed increased tax rate are below (scroll down).
This notice does not mean that the City is increasing primary property taxes to the rate of 1.1244 nor to the maximum levy amount of $4,389,245 but that the City Council will be considering and discussing a possible primary property tax and levy increase during the Council Budget and Truth in Taxation Hearing scheduled for July 8, 2019.
Annually property taxes must be approved by ordinance. A first reading of an ordinance to approve the primary property tax rate set by Council may occur at a public meeting of the City Council.
Posting this notice up to the maximum allowable rate provides the City Council with the greatest flexibility in deciding the City’s property tax levy for the FY 2020 Budget.
Please contact Celina Morris, Finance Director (520) 421- 8619 if you have any questions.
This notice is posted on the homepage of the City Website this 22nd day of May, 2019.
