HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

The Casa Grande Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1900 block of North Vista Lane. This incident was reported at 7:48 a.m. this morning.

The victim, 45-year-old Casa Grande resident STEVE SHINAULT, suffered from multiple gunshots to his torso. The suspect, who fled the scene and has not been located, is identified as 49-year-old Casa Grande resident MARCUS HATTON. Marcus Hatton is currently being sought and is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Although this is still an active investigation, Detectives have determined the victim and suspect knew each other and were engaged in an altercation outside of a residence. After being shot, the victim attempted to drive away in his vehicle and crashed into two residential structures a short distance away in the 1100 block of East Prickly Pear Street. No one else on scene was injured.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident or the whereabouts of MARCUS HATTON to call or email Detective Brandon Garcia at (520) 840-3175 and Brandon_Garcia@casagrandeaz.gov. To report anonymously, citizens may also call Silent Witness at (520) 836-2100.
