Pre-Application Process & Meeting Guidance

Pre-Application Process

Applicants are encouraged to meet with Planning Staff to discuss their proposed developments early in the process. This helps identify any potential issues and streamline your application.

Development Team Meetings (for Planning-Related Projects)

If your project involves land use or zoning considerations and you have conceptual plans, the City offers Development Team Meetings. These meetings allow you to get feedback from staff across multiple departments before submitting a formal application.

Who it's for: Projects involving land use, zoning, or site development that require Planning Division review.

How to request: Contact the Planning Department to schedule.

Cost: No fee is required.

Note: Development Team Meetings are not required and not appropriate for Engineering Permits, such as Right-of-Way Use Permits.

Engineering Permit Pre-Application Guidance

If you're applying for an Engineering Permit (e.g., Right-of-Way Use Permit), a Development Team Meeting is not necessary.

Instead:
Complete a permit application. The application document contains instructions for applicable parties you should contact if you have any questions.
