FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: KORTSEN ROAD SEWER RELIEF PROJECT MOVES TO THORNTON ROAD INTERSECTION (04/01).
Beginning on Monday, April 1st and lasting through approximately April 12th, Thornton Road between Desert Sky Drive and Kortsen Road will be closed to through traffic as part of the Kortsen Road Sewer Relief Project. Contractors will be trenching in the roadway to facilitate pipe installation. Other traffic impacts include,
- Thornton Road between Cottonwood Lane and Desert Sky Drive will be open to local traffic only for Sundance Resort 2 residents.
- Lane reductions will occur at the Kortsen Road and Thornton Road intersection leading into Dave White Park.
Motorists are asked to follow the detours and drive cautiously through the traffic control.
The Korsten Road Sewer Relief Project, spanning approximately 4.6 miles, will originate at the Henness Road alignment, navigate along the Kortsen Road alignment, and end at the City's Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) and will add approximately 9 million gallons per day (MGD) addressing the demand for increased sewer capacity to sustain growth in the region.
