UTILITY BOX ART PROGRAM CONTINUES TO BRIGHTEN CASA GRANDE STREETS.
Digital map of all phases now available to the public.

Casa Grande, AZ- The Utility Box Art Project, an initiative by the Casa Grande Arts & Culture Commission, has quickly become a beloved staple in the community. This program transforms ordinary utility boxes owned by APS and the city into vibrant canvases, adding beauty to the streetscape and deterring graffiti.

With 19 art boxes already decorating the city, these colorful installations are more than just ornamental—they are symbols of community pride. Each box reflects the unique culture of Casa Grande and spreads positivity throughout the area.

To make it easier for residents and visitors to explore this outdoor gallery, a new Utility Box Art map has been created and can be found on the city’s website

This map not only guides users to each art box location but also provides insights into the talented artists behind the designs and the inspirations that fueled their creativity.

“The Utility Box Art Project has truly become a source of pride for our community, said Gloria Leija, City Clerk and Arts & Culture Commission liaison”. “It’s incredible to see how these once-overlooked utility boxes have been transformed into beautiful pieces of art that celebrate the vibrant culture of Casa Grande. Each installation tells a story and reflects the heart of our city, bringing joy to residents and visitors alike. We are proud to support our local artists and look forward to continuing this creative journey as we move into Phase Four.”

Looking ahead, the program will enter Phase Four in early 2025, offering more opportunities for artists to contribute to this ongoing celebration of art in public spaces.
