CASA GRANDE ARTS & CULTURE COMMISSION UNVEILS 2024 COLOR ON CONCRETE ART PROJECT.

Casa Grande, AZ – The Casa Grande Arts & Culture Commission (ACC) is thrilled to introduce a new initiative that invites local artists to showcase their creativity and contribute to the beautification of our city. The 2024 Color on Concrete Art Project is a unique opportunity for artists to transform Casa Grande’s streetscapes into vibrant canvases, with the first two locations set at the intersection of Trekell Road and Rodeo Road.

These concrete walls, initially designed as functional barriers, will soon serve as platforms for creative expression. The project aims to turn the ordinary structures into artwork that engages and inspire travelers, while also enhancing the aesthetics of the community. Through this initiative, the ACC hopes to promote a safe, inclusive, and dynamic environment that reflects the rich diversity of Casa Grande’s neighborhoods.

Artists are encouraged to submit proposals that celebrate the vitality of our city, highlighting its contributions to art, music, community events, outdoor activities, history, and culture. The selected works should be tasteful and embody the spirit of Casa Grande, bringing color and life to these public spaces.

To support their work, selected artists will receive a $2,000 stipend:

  • $1,000 at the start of the project
  • $1,000 upon completion

The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, September 25, 2024, by 4:00 p.m.

For more information about the program, visit Color on Concrete. Applications can be completed online, emailed to Evonne_Aldana@casagrandeaz.gov, or submitted in person to the Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 510 E. Florence Blvd., Casa Grande, AZ.

This project is a wonderful chance for artists to leave their mark on Casa Grande and contribute to the creation of a more beautiful and inspiring city.
