FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: KORTSEN SEWER RELIEF PROJECT SCHEDULED TO CROSS PEART ROAD (11/4).

CASA GRANDE, AZ - [October 29, 2024] – The Kortsen Road Sewer Relief Project will be crossing the intersection of Peart Road and Kortsen Road in a multi-phase effort to install the sewer line. The following closures are necessary to complete the work.

  • Phase I- Beginning on Monday, November 4 contractors for the City of Casa Grande will close eastbound lanes on Kortsen Road between Colorado Street and Peart Road, and east of Peart Road to Desert Willow Way. Temporary asphalt will be installed in the shoulder of the westbound lanes to create a two-way traffic scenario (see map).
  • Phase II- Beginning on Wednesday, November 6 Peart Road will experience a hard closure from Prickly Pear Way to Kortsen Road. Motorists are asked to detour at either Cottonwood Lane or Oneil Drive (see map). The work is expected to last until November 20.

Motorists should expect traffic delays in the area and are asked to drive slowly and adhere to traffic signs, as crews will be working in the roadway and along the shoulder.

The $8.7 million Kortsen Road Sewer Relief Project spans approximately 4.6 miles. It will originate at the Henness Road alignment, navigate along the Kortsen Road alignment, and end at the City's Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). This project will add approximately 9 million gallons per day (MGD) of sewer capacity to address the demand for increased sewer capacity needed to sustain the city’s growth.

For general project inquiries, please contact the Casa Grande Public Works Department at (520) 421-8625.

For matters related to traffic control, please reach out to Josh Crandall, Project Superintendent, at (602) 527-4485. For more information on City of Casa Grande traffic impacts, sign up for CGAlerts.
