FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LISA NAVARRO-FITZGIBBONS ELECTED MAYOR OF CASA GRANDE: A LEGACY OF COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE.
Lisa Navarro-Fitzgibbons has been elected as Mayor of Casa Grande, bringing with her decades of professional expertise and a deep commitment to the community. Mayor Elect-Fitzgibbons will officially assume office on December 2, 2024, following her election on July 30, 2024, and is the first woman elected as Mayor since 1929.
Moving to the city in the early 1970s, she grew up attending local schools before earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. Her professional journey spans roles with Xerox Corporation, the Arizona Governor’s Office, Shearson Lehman Brothers in New York City, and a decade at Pepsi-Cola Company in Phoenix. After returning to Casa Grande to raise her family, Lisa continued her impactful career with organizations like United Way of Pinal County and Fidelity National Title before joining Fitzgibbons Law Offices, where she has served as Director of Marketing and Business Development for 17 years.
Lisa and her husband Denis, married for 34 years, have three daughters who were all raised in Casa Grande. Their family now includes two sons-in-law and two grandsons. During her children’s journey through Casa Grande schools, Lisa actively participated in various roles as a Girl Scout Leader, School Board Member, and Cheer and Band mom.
Lisa’s public service began in 2010 when she was appointed to the Casa Grande City Council. In 2011, she was elected to her first full term, and she is now serving her third term. She has twice served as Mayor Pro Temp, in 2014 and 2020. Her leadership on the council reflects her dedication to the city and its residents, with a focus on fostering community engagement, supporting economic growth, and enhancing quality of life.
Beyond her work in public office, Lisa is a champion for community initiatives. She actively serves on boards including the Latino Familia Initiative Board of Directors (Treasurer and past President), the Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI-Pinal), Cesar Chavez Memorial Committee, the Faith Alliance Executive Committee, and the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness, of which she is a founding member. Lisa also contributes as a Board Member for Child & Family Resources. In 2010, she received the prestigious Latino Advocacy Award from Valle del Sol, recognizing her statewide contributions to the Latino community.
“I am honored and excited to step into this role as Mayor of Casa Grande,” said Mayor-Elect Fitzgibbons. “This community has given so much to me and my family, and I look forward to continuing to work together to build a bright future for all who call Casa Grande home.”
City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday at 7 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall, 510 E. Florence Boulevard in Casa Grande. Meetings can also be viewed on the City Website, COX Channel 11, YouTube, or Facebook.
