CPR Classes

The Casa Grande Fire Department now offers BLS and Heartsaver CPR Hands-on Training. All classes will be held at the Public Safety Facility, 377 E Val Vista Blvd, and will be limited to 6 students per class.

About HeartCode ® BLS
CGFD offers the Heartsaver CPR Classes in a hybrid form ONLY- online coursework completed at home and skills sessions held at the fire administration office.
Who Should Take This Course?
The AHA’s Heartcode BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals such as CNAs, EMTs, CEP’s, RN’s, MDs, and students pursuing a career in the medical health field.
How Does This Course Work?
Step 1 – Sign up for the online course through the American Heart Association. This course costs $37.00, paid to the AHA (American Heart Association.) At the end of the course, you will be asked to do a quick survey, and then you will receive a certificate of completion (This is not your CPR card). You will need to provide a copy of that certificate to the instructor for the second part of the course. You must have completed the online course before you do the Hands-On Skills Course.
Step 2 – Sign up for the Hands-On Skills Course by completing the Registration Form (PDF) and submitting both the Registration Form and Certificate of Completion to cpr@casagrandeaz.gov and you will receive a confirmation email. The Hands-On Skills Course is once a month. For class date and times, please view the class schedule (PDF). Registration is due one week prior to the class. The cost is $30.00, paid to EMS Trust Fund. (Check and Money Orders OnIy.) It may take up to 2 hours to complete this part of the course. Once you complete this part, you will receive your CPR card by email.
Classes may be canceled due to low student registration and/or instructor availability.

Who Should Take This Course?
Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
How Does This Course Work?
Step 1 – Sign up for the Heartsaver TOTAL online course through the American Heart Association, which includes CPR for Adult, Child, Infant, and First Aid. This course costs $23.00, paid to the AHA (American Heart Association). At the end of the course, you will be asked to do a quick survey, and then you will receive a certificate of completion (This is not your CPR card). You will need to provide a copy of that certificate to the instructor for the second part of the course. You must complete the TOTAL online course, which includes: CPR for Adult, Child, Infant, and First Aid, before you do the Hands-On Skills Course.
Step 2 – Sign up for the Heartsaver Total Hands-On Course by completing the Registration Form (PDF) and submitting both the Registration Form and Certificate of Completion to cpr@casagrandeaz.gov. Your certificate must show you took the CPR for Adult, Child, Infant, and First Aid. Once your paperwork is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. We offer the Hands-On Skills Course 2 days/month. For class times, please view the class schedule (PDF). Registration is due one week prior to the class. The cost is $40.00, paid to EMS Trust Fund. (Check and Money Orders Only.) It may take up to 2 hours to complete this part of the course. Once you complete this part, you will receive your CPR card by email.
