Historic Preservation Commission (HPC)

Overview

The purpose of the Casa Grande Historic Preservation Program and the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is to protect and enhance the landmarks and historic districts that represent distinctive elements of the city’s historic, architectural and cultural heritage; facilitate public knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the City’s historic past; promote awareness of its architectural and cultural history by working with residents and business owners to preserve the history; and foster civic pride so that future generations will have the opportunity to appreciate and understand Casa Grande’s unique historic, architectural, and cultural heritage.

Casa Grande is a designated Certified Local Governments (CLG) with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). The CLG designation signifies that a municipality has entered into an agreement with the State Historic Preservation Office and the National Park Service to commit to work collaboratively to fulfill the goal of preserving, protecting and increasing awareness of heritage resources.
