[ARCHIVED] Casa Grande Public Library - Weekly Programs & Events (November 3-8)

Highlights & Events


  • Intermediate iPad/iPhone Class – Thursday, November 6 from 2:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m. at the Main Library (449 N. Drylake St.). No registration required.

  • Genealogy: Using Maps for Genealogy – Monday, November 3 at 10:00–11:15 a.m., Vista Grande Library (1556 N. Arizola Rd.). Monthly topic introduction.

  • Board Game Series (Grades 6–12) – Weekly on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m., Main Library. 11-week program combining strategy, fun and friendly competition.

  • Crochet & Knitting Club – Fridays from 3:30–5:00 p.m. at Vista Grande Library. Ages 12+; bring your own supplies (some yarn provided while supplies last). Member-led.

  • Family Movie & Coloring Activity – Saturday (date implied) at Main Library, 2:00 p.m. Light snacks allowed; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Spanish Conversation Gathering – Thursdays, 12:30–1:00 p.m., Vista Grande Library. Hosted by Ms. Alisa & Alondra. Open, no registration.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes – Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Vista Grande. All levels welcome; come to one or both sessions.

  • Gardening Tips & Seed Library Presentation – At Vista Grande Library:

    • November 8: “Beyond Rows: Square Foot, Intercropping, Chaos Gardening”

    • December 13: “Tips, Tricks, and Some of our Favorite Products and Tools”

  • Veterans Living Library Event – Wednesday, November 12, 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Vista Grande Library. Hosted by Quiet Waters Global Maternal Wellness, Casa Grande Union High School District, and the Library. Local military veterans share stories from multiple eras. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments. Text or call 520-367-7268 to join.

  • Library Closures – Both library locations will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Regular hours resume on Wednesday, November 12.


Ongoing Library Services & Programs


  • Reading Challenges via Beanstack App:

    • “25 in 25 Challenge” — Read 25 books during 2025 (all ages)

    • “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” — For ages 0-5; complete the challenge to receive a certificate and photo opportunity at either branch.

  • Mayor’s Reading Club (Volunteer Opportunity) — One hour per month, reading to students in grades K-3. Link available on the city website.

  • Free Online Courses via Universal Class — Adult learners, homeschoolers, and college students can access hundreds of online classes (with a library card).

  • One-on-One Technology Tutoring (Tutor Tech Time) — For ages 18+; in-person assistance to learn about devices, e-books, social media, etc. Sign-up required.

  • Study Rooms Available — Reserve study rooms (up to 2 hours/day) at both branches by phone, online, or in-person:

    • Main Library: 520-421-8710

    • Vista Grande Library: 520-421-8652

  • Donations & Volunteering

  • Culture Pass Program — Library cardholders can check out passes (one per household/7-day period) to local cultural institutions. Passes are also available on the Bookmobile.
