Keep Casa Grande Beautiful
The Keep Casa Grande Beautiful Adopt-A-Street program enables community and civic organizations, as well as private businesses and individuals, to actively participate in enhancing the overall appearance of Casa Grande streets. Streets are adopted in one-mile segments and groups agree to remove trash/debris a minimum of two times per year for at least a two-year period.
Adopt-A-Street Application and Information Packet
Who can adopt a street?
A Casa Grande resident, who is willing to accept the responsibilities associated with the program and has the enthusiasm and dedication to make Casa Grande a better place to live, can adopt a street. Businesses, community or civic organizations, neighborhood associations, church groups, or individuals can adopt streets in Casa Grande.
What streets can be adopted?
Only major and collector streets are considered and can be adopted in one-mile segments. Prior to completing an application, you can contact the Adopt-A-Street coordinator at (520) 421-8630 or cgplanning@casagrandeaz.gov.
What is required of volunteers?
Volunteers commit to removing trash/debris along both sides of the adopted street for a minimum two-year period. A minimum of two clean-ups per year is required (cleanups are scheduled on Saturday in October and April each year). Safety always comes first so we ask that you wear a safety vest (provided) during the cleanups. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult.
Once you have completed your cleanup, you’ll leave all debris in bagged/tied trash bags along the side of the street.
If the minimum clean-ups are not performed, the Adopt-A-Street signs will be removed, and that street segment will be made available for others to adopt. We encourage you to monitor conditions on your adopted street and report any problems to the Adopt-A-Street coordinator.
When and where can clean-ups occur?
Cleanups are scheduled twice a year (October & April) and we ask that groups make every effort to participate on the day of or the same weekend to assist in scheduling pickup.
A minimum of two clean-ups per year is required. Should your group decide to organize a clean-up on a different day, trash pickup is not guaranteed and it is the responsibility of the group to handle trash removal. For your safety, we do not allow cleanups on the street or in median islands. Sidewalks and traffic lanes are to be kept open and unobstructed at all times. After the clean-up, City sanitation staff will pick up the contained trash.
What happens to the trash after we collect it?
We ask that groups collect trash from both sides of the adopted street. Contained trash will be picked up by city staff. Place all contained bags and any larger items in piles by the sidewalk or at the curb if no sidewalk exists. If you can safely place the bags in one central location, that is preferred for ease of collection.
What does the City provide?
The City will provide clean-up kits (trash bags, safety vests, and gloves), and they can be picked up at the following address:
Community Recreation Center
1905 N Peart Rd
Casa Grande, AZ 85122
*Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 9:00 pm
*Staff will email groups when clean-up kits are available for pickup.
