About the Commission
The Arts & Culture Commission is a citizen advisory board that works to enrich the City of Casa Grande by promoting, supporting, and celebrating arts and cultural initiatives. The Commission provides guidance on public art projects, cultural programming, and community events, helping to enhance the city’s identity and quality of life. By fostering creativity and accessibility, the ACC ensures that arts and culture remain a vibrant and integral part of the community.

Our Mission
The Arts and Culture Commission promotes the importance and value of arts and culture experiences for all Casa Grande residents. It advocates for continued public funding for the arts and culture sector, arts education, cultural equity, and other initiatives that further the growth and sustainability of the creative and diverse community in Casa Grande.
Goals
- Create and maintain a public art inventory.
- Evaluate the north City Hall Plaza to determine needed enhancements to promote future uses.
- Create a cultural community by increasing outreach and collaboration.
- Research and determine the feasibility of creating a Cultural Center / Cultural Activities Office.
- Identify all City facilities/spaces and promote their use for art and art-related activities.
Arts & Culture Commission 5-Year Plan
The purpose of the Five-Year Plan for the Arts and Culture Commission is to serve as a strategic roadmap that guides the City of Casa Grande’s efforts to enhance, support, and promote the arts throughout the community. This plan outlines the Commission’s long-term vision, goals, and priorities, helping to inform policy, funding, and program decisions. It emphasizes the role of arts and culture in fostering community pride, economic development, inclusivity, and quality of life. Through this plan, the Commission aims to ensure that creative opportunities are accessible to all residents, while celebrating the rich diversity and heritage that make Casa Grande unique.
Meetings
The Arts & Culture Commission meets monthly. Meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and participate. Agendas and minutes are available on the City’s website.

Art in the City Brochure
The Casa Grande Arts and Culture Commission oversees the Utility Box Art Program. This initiative aims to enhance the Casa Grande community by incorporating artwork into local streetscapes. - Where can I find the paperwork to run for Mayor or Councilmember?

Candidates seeking election for municipal office will file nomination petitions with the City Clerk's Office. The nonpartisan candidate petition is provided here. It is your responsibility to verify the correct form utilized in the jurisdiction in which you are seeking a nomination. Additional relevant forms for campaign committees can be found on the City Elections page. All other questions about running for local office should be directed towards the City Clerk's Office at 520-421-8600.
- How can I serve on a Board or Commission?

In order to serve on a City of Casa Grande Board or Commission, the following requirements must be met.
- Must reside in Casa Grande for at least one year
- Must be a registered voter
- Submit an application (PDF) for review and appointment by the City Council
If you would like to request a waiver for a requirement, a waiver request form (PDF) must be submitted.
- What are the requirements to run for local political office?

The Mayor and Councilmembers shall be qualified electors of the city and shall hold no other public office for which they receive compensation except that of a notary public or member of the National Guard or naval or military reserve. Candidates must have resided in the city for three years next preceding the date of such election or appointment. If the Mayor or a Councilmember shall cease to possess any of these qualifications or shall be convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, that office shall immediately become vacant.
City employees are not eligible to stand for election or serve as Mayor or as members of the City Council.
Candidates for Mayor must be 25 years of age or older, and candidates for Councilmember must be 21 years of age or older.
